Violin is a stringed musical instrument using the bow for playing. Strings are granted in perfect fifths and are stretched over one side of the gourd, thrilling when it gets in touch with the bow in motion. Compared with other string instruments (viola, cello, bass), violin is the smallest one, and it generates the sharpest sounds, inaccessible even for piano, covering the medium high and high register.
Violin appeared in Northern Italy, at the beginning of the sixteenth century. Most likely it was inspired by 3 different instruments: rebec (existing in the Xth century), viola da gamba și viola da braccio. Documents show that the eldest known violin, with four strings, similar to the modern violin, was fixed in 1555 by Andreea Amati (Andrea Amati). Violins created before, had just 3 strings. Violin immediately became quite popular between musicians and even between nobles;for example, in 1560, France king Carol IX, ordered 24 violins to Amati. The most antique violin, existing in present days, is a piece of that collection, mastered by Amati in 1564, in Cremona.
Description and aims of the course:
Violin cours, similar to the other ones at the Music Education Center „Ars Cantus”, aims to achieve the novelty contact with music through violin. Due to the extremly comfortable construction, this instrument requires a high level of virtuosity in the present days, especially at the high performance category, at the same time representing the soul’s voice of the humanity. So, this cours, besides to the objectives pursued in the studying violin process, gives the possibility to open a wide range of information of the entire field of music, and develop another abbilities of the learner, such as: distributive attention, organization and systematization of the study process, strength and concentration span, will and emotional control, the intellectual and analytical effectiveness.
Recommendations:
Because of the violin technical characteristics, which involves the development of an increased physical resistance, propose the starting age of the study between 5 and 6 years old, for the high performance level. The violin course is availbale even for other age categories, but not for a high performance level.
